Hakan Balta threw in and Arda scored the goal. Galatasaray went ahead at the 42nd minute. Sabri shot a free kick; Servet gave a header and Arda scored the second goal. Hakan Şükür got the ball behind the defense players and scored the fifth goal of Galatasaray. The game ended with a score of 5-3 with the victory of Galatasaray getting three points ahead of its closest rival Fenerbahçe and if they avoid defeat to Genclerbirligi Oftasspor next week they will be crowned CHAMPIONS......

Galatasaray have done what they were supposed to do, with a 3-0 victory at Istanbul BB in the Turkcell Süper Lig week 31 on Sunday.

'Gala' needed a win to keep on sharing the top spot with rivals Fenerbahçe with three matches to go.

Home side Istanbul made it easier on their guests with an own goal from Kerim in the third minute, and second-half goals from Lincoln and Hakan Sükür set the score to 0-3.

Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray both played 31 games and have 70 points each. Fenerbahçe have a +37 goal record while Galatasaray scored 36 goals more than they conceded.

Galatasaray and Gençlerbirliği tied in yesterday's game of Fortis Turkish Cup with a score of 1-1. Gençlerbirliği qualified for the finals as they won the first game with a score of 1-0.

The first half of the game ended without any goals. At the 76th minute Gençlerbirliği went ahead. Ergin made the corner shot; El Saka lowered the ball down with a header and Tuna scored the goal. But at two minutes from the end, it was Lincoln to finally break the deadlock and earn the visitors from Istanbul three points.

Yesterday, Fenerbahçe had increased the pressure on Galatasaray with a 2-1 win over Kayserispor with goals from Alex and Sentürk.

On Tuesday, 4 March 2008 at 15.00 Galatasaray Veteran Football Team played with English HMS Exeter Football Team in the upper ground of Metin Oktay Sports Facility. The team consists of players chosen from among the 200 personnel of HMS Exeter, a ship of the English Royal Navy. Like all the other teams of the English Navy ships, HMS Exeter shares it's enthusiasm for football with teams from all around the world by playing a match in every port it visits on duty.

HMS Exeter Football Team has made it's offer to play with Galatasaray Veteran Team through the English Consulate General in Istanbul.
